WhyReward direct bookings: the guest applies the discount code in the booking module’s cart, and the total updates on the spot.
WhoHotel owners and administrators who set up the booking module and run discount campaigns.
What you’ll getA promo code with a percentage or fixed-amount discount, validity dates, and limits by arrival date, nights, guests, and rates; per-code statistics.
LimitationsThe promo code field is shown in the widget by default, but the discount feature is enabled on the PMS side — by the package or the hotel settings. A promo code’s statistics are about applications; views and conversion live in the promo label analytics (a separate section).

A promo code is a discount code the guest enters in the booking module’s cart on your website. Codes are created in the PMS: the Online booking section, the Promo codes page. That is also where the widget field is toggled, and where the code list and per-code statistics live.

One code, one campaign: from a simple “10% off everything” to an offer with conditions on arrival dates, stay length, and party size.

  • A percentage or a fixed amount. A percentage takes a share of the booking total; a fixed amount is a specific value in the hotel’s currency.
  • Dates. The validity period — when the code is accepted in the cart — is separate from the applicability period — which arrival dates the discount covers.
  • Applicability. The discount works with the whole booking or with the room cost only; the scope can be narrowed to selected room types and rates.
  • Limits. Minimum and maximum stay length, number of guests, how close to arrival the code can be used, and a cap on total uses.

Outcome: the discount rules are set once when the code is created — after that guests apply it themselves, and the statistics show how the code performs.

The “Show promo code field” toggle on the Widget page controls the field. It is on by default: guests see the Promo code field right away — nothing to set up. Turn the toggle off, and the field disappears from the cart, while the created codes and their settings stay in the PMS.

The field lives in the order cart — the “Your selection” block in the right column: under the booking line there is a Promo code box and an Apply button. The button stays inactive while the box is empty. The answer to a code appears right under the field, without a page reload. The cart with the field follows the guest through every step of checkout — from picking a room to entering guest details.

Outcome: the promo code field is in the cart out of the box; the “Show promo code field” toggle controls it.

Codes are managed in the Online booking section, on the Promo codes page: a list with a search by code and status filters. A new code is created in a dialog with four tabs.

  1. Open Online booking → Promo codes and click New promo code.
  2. On the General tab, set the code’s parameters:
    • Code — capital Latin letters, digits, and _, for example SUMMER25 or WELCOME_10; the system normalizes the case.
    • Description — in two languages, RU and EN; the guest sees it when applying the code.
    • Discount type — “Percentage (%)” (the default) or “Fixed amount” — and the discount Amount; for a percentage, a value from 1 to 100.
  3. On the Applicability tab, choose what the discount applies to: “Booking” — from the whole total, or “Room” — from the room cost only. Narrow the scope further if needed: “Booking components” — which parts of the total the discount reduces (with nothing selected — all of them), “Room types”, and “Rate plans” (with nothing selected — all).
  4. On the Restrictions tab, set the conditions: the applicability period — the arrival dates the discount covers; the minimum and maximum number of nights (0 — no limit); the number of guests in the booking, children included; the minimum and maximum number of days before arrival at which the code is accepted.
  5. On the Validity and activity tab, set the validity period — when the code can be entered in the cart. These are not arrival dates: those are configured on the Restrictions tab. Also here: “Max. uses” (0 — unlimited), “Priority” (when several promo codes fit a booking, the one with the higher number wins; the usual value is 100, important campaigns go 500 and up), and the “Active” toggle — a code can be switched off without deleting it.
  6. Click Create — the code appears in the list with the Active status.

Outcome: in the list, each code shows its discount size (for example, “-10.00%”) and status; the filters “All / Active / Inactive / Expired” separate finished campaigns, and the toggle in the row switches a code off without deleting it — its history and statistics are kept.

There is no need to delete a campaign: a switched-off code stays in the list with its history and statistics — and can be turned back on for the next season.

  1. After picking a room, the guest opens the cart: the right column holds the order summary with the total, and the Promo code field sits under the booking line.
  2. The guest enters the code and clicks Apply.
  3. The answer appears right under the field, without a page reload; if the code fits, the total is recalculated with the discount.

The discount reduces the cart total; the booking itself — dates, room, rate — stays as it is.

The discount feature is enabled on the PMS side (package or hotel settings): there is no separate toggle in the Promo codes section. When it is off for a property, any code gets the reply that the feature is not available for this property; the codes themselves are still created and stored in the PMS as usual.

The code can also be handed to the guest in advance — as a module link parameter: from a newsletter or a post, the guest opens the module with the promo code already applied.

Outcome: applying a code takes two steps — type it in and click Apply; the total is recalculated immediately.

Each code’s row has a statistics icon. Per code, the system counts applications: times used, redemptions, the total discount given, and the applications remaining. Switching a code off does not erase its data — an inactive promo code keeps its history and statistics.

Views, clicks, and conversion are counted by a different analytics screen — the promo label analytics (the “Promo labels” section): the “Views”, “Clicks”, “Bookings”, and “Conversion” tiles are built from the badges on rate cards and render once enough events have accumulated (from 50); before that, a “Not enough data for the chart” placeholder is shown.

Inactive and expired codes sit in the list alongside the live ones — the “Inactive” and “Expired” filters separate them from running campaigns.
